My question is:We
have a 8 month old quaker parrot. He doesn't want to say much. Up
up, and he imitates the kids scream, and has two different laughs.
Am I doing something wrong? I have a "talky bird" recorder
that I put phrases on. I read about people who have quakers that
talk earlier than this. Is he normal? Also, he has a high pitched
chirp that almost makes your ears bleed. I've tried whispering to
him, scolding him, showering him, and covering him. Nothing seems
to work. Any suggestions?

My question is:
We have a Blue Front Amazon. We have to trim the beak about once
a month. Is there a vitiman suppliment to curb this problem? The
other two birds we have don't have this problem.

My question is: My
girlfriend and I have had our quaker for two years, but recently, he's
developed a growth on his beak that seems to be closing his left nnostril.
We are very worried and before we go to a vet, could someone please
give us some insight?
Thanx,

Hi all. I am in Southern
California and we recently had a small earthquake, the first
one I recall since we got our macaw, Woody, six months ago (he is about
1 year old now)
Anyway,
the earthquake woke me up and I heard Woody flapping around in his cage.
I uncovered him and he was extremely distressed. I calmed him down and
put him back
to bed. When I woke up the next morning he was still clinging to the
side of the cage
where I left him. Since then, that's how he sleeps (I'm assuming he
sleeps when we do).
Every morning when I uncover him he is on the side of the cage. I can
tell from his
droppings he's been there all night. Is this OK? I've tried a few nights
to put him on
his perch, where he used to sleep, whenever I get up to use the restroom.
It hasn't worked.
He does use his perch during the day and he is eating fine. What, if
anything, should I do?
Thanks.

I have a yellow nape
amazon parrot and he used to eat a bird food called "Abba" until
I found out that the sunflower seeds were no good for him. So I switched
to a new food called "Safflower Gold". The problem is, my parrot
keeps throwing the food out of his cage! Can you suggest a bird food that
he will eat and enjoy without having to vacuum my carpet everyday? Any
help would be appreciated!

I have a beautiful
18 weeks old Quaker that I need to find a new home for.
He's much louder than expected, and the apartment tenants do not appreciate
him at all. He's been checked out by a vet within the last couple weeks
and is
in perfect health. I've only had him for 4 weeks now. He's beginning to
talk
and he's ever so freindly. I hate to part with him, but I think I must.
Everything is included with him too (food, treats, toys, cage, perches,
etc - cage
is 5' by 3' by 2'). I would like to get some of my money back since it's
only
been 4 weeks...I figure $350.00 for everything was a fair price (as it
is
valued at over $700.00). Please, let me know if you are interested.
Time is of the essence. Thank you.

we bought a quaker
as a baby and a year later bought a 2 year old conure.
just in the last week the quaker will not let us touch the conure.
he will bite us now and has never done that before. the conure will
come to us if the quaker is not around but not if he is there. we
do not know the gender of either one. the quaker is so fiercely protective
of the conure; help! what should we do?
